Operational audits

An annual operational audit assesses the Sydney Catchment Authority's (SCA) performance under its operating licence. The audit is managed by the licence regulator, the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of NSW (IPART).

The audit investigates and reports on the SCA's compliance with its obligations under the operating licence and the memoranda of understanding with NSW Health and Environment Protection Authority (now the Department of Environment and Climate Change). IPART can also comment on the SCA's overall performance under the operating licence.

IPART engages independent auditors to conduct the audit and prepare a report. IPART then reviews the report to form the basis of advice for the SCA's Minister on the SCA's performance.

Members of the public can also comment on the SCA's performance annually. IPART calls for public submissions on the SCA's performance prior to each operational audit.

You can view operational audits of the SCA on the IPART website at www.ipart.nsw.gov.au.
