The

The new fish lift and environmental flows infrastructure at Tallowa Dam will help protect 10 native fish species, including the endangered Australian Grayling, by improving the health of the river and allowing fish to migrate between the lower and upper Shoalhaven River.

This report describes the results of water quality monitoring undertaken by the Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) during 2008–09, in accordance with clause 3.6 of the operating licence. As well as meeting the SCA’s statutory obligations, the report aims to provide stakeholders, students, researchers and other members of the community with information on water quality.

More specifically, this report aims to:

  • detail how the system has performed relative to water quality criteria at each location
  • map water quality in catchments, reservoirs and delivery systems
  • interpret the results of the collected water quality data
  • report on research activities
  • report on measures planned or taken to manage water quality incidents.
