Pesticide Use Notice - SCA recreation areas

As required under the Pesticides Regulation 2009, the Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) gives notice of weed control work by the SCA or approved contractors in the following SCA recreation areas:

• Warragamba Recreation Area
• Woronora Recreation Area
• Metropolitan Recreation Areas (Cataract, Cordeaux, Avon Nepean)
• Shoalhaven Recreation Areas (Wingecarribee, Fitzroy Falls, Bendeela and Tallowa)

The pesticides Grazon Extra, Roundup Biactive, Brush Off and MCPA will be applied to control the following weeds: blackberry, broom, pampas grass, fire weed, eucalypt and other regrowth, willows, exotic grasses and environmental weeds.

This weed program is scheduled in these locations for the period 6 February 2012 to 14 December 2012.

The SCA ensures that pesticides are applied in a safe, responsible manner, minimising harm to the community and the environment.
