Bendeela Recreation Area Masterplan
Bendeela Recreation Area is a rustic camping and picnic ground on the banks of the Kangaroo River arm of Lake Yarrunga (Tallowa Dam). It is one of the largest camping areas in the Shoalhaven, and is near Kangaroo Valley village. It is popular for day visits and overnight camping.
The Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) is developing a Bendeela Recreation Area Masterplan to guide future sustainable management of the site and its facilities. The masterplan is being developed in close consultation with the community.
The SCA has engaged a contractor to develop the masterplan. Once finalised, the masterplan will need to go through further approvals before any site changes, including construction work, can begin.
Community consultation on developing the masterplan
A range of consultation activities will be happen in 2012-2013 to ensure community input throughout the development of the masterplan. This includes establishing and meeting with a Community Reference Group.
