Opening times
Warragamba Dam
Public access to Warragamba Dam and Haviland Park (the inner picnic area) is currently unavailable.
However, Picnic Area No 1 (the outer picnic area) and the viewing platform at the ned of Eighteenth Street, Warragamba, are open every day of the year from 10am to 5pm. On Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays during Daylight Saving Time, they are open from 10am to 7pm.
There are temporary limitations to visitor facilities at Warragamba Dam
Upper Nepean and Woronora catchment systems
Cataract, Cordeaux, Nepean and Woronora dams are open every day of the year from 10am to 5pm. On Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays during Daylight Saving Time, these dams are open from 10am – 7pm.
Avon Dam is closed to the public due to construction work. The extended closure is to allow for the installation of pipes, tunnels and outlets at the dam as part of the NSW Government's Deep Water Recovery Project.
Shoalhaven catchment system
Tallowa Dam and Bendeela Picnic Area are open 24 hours a day.
Prospect Reservoir
Prospect Reservoir Picnic Area, which is owned and managed by Sydney Water, is open to the public every day of the year between 10am and 4.45pm. On weekends and public holidays during Daylight Saving Time only, the picnic area remains open until 6.45pm.

- There is no entry to any of the dams 15 minutes prior to closing time.
- Access to some SCA areas may be restricted from time-to-time due to construction or operational activity, or for environmental reasons.
