There will be no working BBQs or hot water available at the Woronora Dam picnic area on 8 or 9 November due to electrical repairs taking place onsite.

Woronora Dam is located south of Sydney, near Waterfall. The facilities at these grounds include:

  • Picnic shelters
  • Electric barbecues
  • Toilets/disabled toilets
  • Drinking water
  • Playground
  • Viewing area

To help the Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) manage its picnic and camping facilities please notify us in advance when the size of groups visiting any of our sites would exceed 50 visitors. This can be done using the large group notification form.

Opening hours

  • 10am to 5pm
  • 10am to 7pm (on weekends and public holidays during daylight saving)
  • The dam is open every day of the year
  • Please note: There is no entry to the dam 15 minutes prior to closing time. Access to some SCA areas may be restricted from time-to-time due to construction or operational activity, or for environmental reasons

How to get there

Access is via the old Princess Highway, south from Sydney or North from Wollongong. Turn off the Princess Highway onto the Woronora Dam access road just south of Waterfall.
