Collaborative research

The Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA) offers opportunities for researchers from external organisations to collaborate in research projects. These collaborative research projects provide the SCA with an opportunity to access and use leading-edge technology and scientific expertise. In return, they give researchers the chance to work with a catchment and raw water management organisation on research topics of critical relevance.

Collaborate research program

The collaborative research program focuses on key science questions that are best answered through one-on-one collaboration with external providers. The projects provide funding for salaries and agreed costs for the duration of the project (up to three years) to support research officers, post-doctorial fellows, honours, MSc or PhD studentships, and other research people.

The most recent call for expressions of interest in collaborative research projects was September 2006. Future calls for expression of interest will be published on the SCA website.

Australian Research Council linkage grants

The SCA is a partner organisation in a number of Australian Research Council (ARC) lInkage grant projects. These may be initiated as an opportunity to supplement research conducted under the collaborative research program, or be developed independently.

The SCA is open to applications from research organisations to partner them in an application for an ARC linkage grant. Applications must be made to the SCA three months priro to ARC closing dates to allow full consideration of the proposal.
