Pollution source tracing and tracking tools
The SCA's pollution source tracing and tracking tools project is a joint program with CSIRO, Australian National University, University of New South Wales and EcoWise Environmental.
This project will summarise the most cost-effective means of determining the origins of pollution found in our water.
When complete, the most appropriate analytical and modelling techniques can be applied across the catchment.
Some tools will identify specific sources of contamination by pinpointing the contribution from a specific site. Others will identify the relative contributions of different types of land use, for example, apportioning sediment pollution between gully and sheet erosion.
